If you haven’t heard, we recently purchased the Pokemon license! Not only was this in conjunction with Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, but it was also a way for us to bring the joy of snacking to even more people!
We have been blown away by the support since our launch of the Pokemon gift box, and we would like to thank each and every one of you for your support so far, it means a lot to a startup like us.
In this article, we will be taking a look at the Pokemon that are on our packaging and learning more about them, so read on to find out interesting things like why did Pikachu become the face of the show and who it almost was.
The Face of Pokemon
The show and game we all know and love has a very iconic mascot. In fact, go anywhere and ask anyone about Pokemon and the first thing that will come to mind is Pikachu. But what if we told you that the mascot was almost not Pikachu?

That’s right, in fact, it was almost… Clefairy!

This was because the creators of Pokemon wanted to appeal to both boys and girls, but they felt Clefairy was ‘too pink.’ Pikachu, on the other hand, was perceived as a more gender-neutral colour and hence we now have Pikachu as the face of the franchise many of us know and love.

But don’t let it’s easy-going appearance fool you, because Bulbasaur is the best pick as the starter Pokemon in the game as grass-type Pokemon like Bulbasaur counters the elements in the starter gyms, our founder Zac Chua says.

Chilli Crab
If you have a preference for hot flavours , then our Charmander Chilli Crab popcorn would be perfect for you! Charmander is from the fire-type class. Just as fire burns at the tip of its tail , we’re sure you will feel the thrill at the tip of your tongue our Chilli Crab popcorn brings you.
But don’t worry, our Chilli Crab isn’t too spicy, just like how the fire spouts from the tip of Charmander’s tail.
Chocolate
Generally well-behaved but hiding an internal rebellious streak, Squirtle is in the water type class and is the Pokemon on our Chocolate popcorn. Just as Squirtle’s shell is brown, our Chocolate popcorn is brown too.

Our gift boxes come with a collectable cut out (not official trading cards in your booster packs) behind the perforated Pokeball on every box.
